Federica Elena | Independent Curator & Writer

I have chosen Portugal as my base, which has become my home and temple of belonging after several years of traveling and living abroad. My mission has been to explore the world through the eyes of art, incorporating historical, social, and cultural experiences to understand more deeply the human dimension through the complexity and subtleties of the power of art.

I studied Marketing and Communication in Milan, graduating with full marks cum laude. I then received my Master's degree in Management in South Africa and a Postgraduate degree in Social Innovation Management in Brazil. After working as a Marketing and Advertising Director for multinational corporations, in 2021 I transitioned to working in creative fields for progressive start-ups and agencies as a freelance marketing and business consultant.

My professional and personal journey has taken me across continents, including years spent living in South Africa and Kenya, experiences that deeply enriched my perspective on culture, creativity, and social impact.

Since 2021, I have devoted my professional path to the world of contemporary art, collaborating with artists, galleries, cultural institutions, and creative organizations while advocating for the arts community. I also completed a curatorial program in Lisbon, which marked an important step in my transition into the field and led me to establish myself professionally as an independent curator and writer.

My practice is rooted in the belief that art can create spaces for dialogue, amplify underrepresented voices, and challenge dominant narratives. My mission is to give local artists from all walks of life the opportunity to use their voices and speak their truths through the language of art, while creating meaningful connections between artists, communities, institutions, and audiences across different cultural contexts.
